The Non-League Football Grounds of Staffordshire and Shropshire is the best of my series on grounds in specific countries. Incredible depth of research by the authors Colin Peel and Mick Blakeman uncovers plenty of detail which will interest anyone with an interest in football grounds. In 92 pages the stories of 90 grounds then in use plus 50 former grounds are told through 200 quality photos. Published in 2003. Cover price £9.95. The next of three copies I still have will be priced ten pounds more than this copy. Then there will be one!
Now a collectable, rare book only available in very limited numbers from myself as publisher, effectively new from the box but listed as ‘new old stock’.
I have been publishing books on football grounds, as seen in the final image, since 1995, the 30th anniversary book already under way. It will be offered only to buyers of previous books through the newsletter which can be most easily found at the bottom of the home page, and other pages too I understand. Details to follow!
The books cover all aspects of the subject including historical archive material, such as Football Grounds of the Early 1900s, presented as Visual History and including maps and historic images. Other books document fully the grounds found in certain counties, from the largest to smallest, stadia to village greens. Then there are the arty books, the ones where the image is more than just a photo of a ground or stand. The books on floodlights are the only two published, while Grounds Frenzy and Football Grounds Frenzy Wales highlight the beauty within a ground or in the backdrop, the hills or terraces of houses.
More books will follow, sign up for the newsletter to be kept up to date.
