In 1995 I started my series of books by photocopying a volume on Kent. This is a revised edition properly printed in 1998. The book is new old stock and although the cover shows signs of fading is in very good condition. The book covers so many grounds now lost or re-developed I'm slightly emotional having taken a look! Very few of the grounds are still unchanged, Gravesend's remarkable old grandstand and Crockenhill's amazing Wested Meadow are rare exceptions.Highly collectable and now very rare.
I have been publishing books on football grounds, as seen in the final image, since 1995, the 30th anniversary book already under way. It will be offered only to buyers of previous books through the newsletter which can be most easily found at the bottom of the home page, and other pages too I understand. Details to follow!
The books cover all aspects of the subject including historical archive material, such as Football Grounds of the Early 1900s, presented as Visual History and including maps and historic images. Other books document fully the grounds found in certain counties, from the largest to smallest, stadia to village greens. Then there are the arty books, the ones where the image is more than just a photo of a ground or stand. The books on floodlights are the only two published, while Grounds Frenzy and Football Grounds Frenzy Wales highlight the beauty within a ground or in the backdrop, the hills or terraces of houses.
More books will follow, sign up for the newsletter to be kept up to date.
